Scafell Pike and Scafell from Wasdale
Scafell Pike and Scafell from Wasdale Head
Total Ascent 1200m
Target time 6 hours for the walk.
This is your chance to climb the two highest mountains in England in one day.
Scafell Pike is the highest mountain in England at a height of 978m. The second highest mountain in England is Scafell at a height of 964m and lies a little over 1km away as the crow flies. However to get between the two mountains you have to descend to Mickledore (the col between the two peaks) and then drop down to the gully that then leads steeply up to the summit of Scafell via Foxes Tarn. Starting and finishing at Wasdale Head at the National Trust Car Park, this is a magnificent high level walk in some breath taking scenery.
We can put together a package to include accommodation and transport. Just ask.
